Anyone here know how reliable newer Volvos are in the long-term? My family wants to get our third Volvo, most likely a V60 T5 AWD. Can anyone here with a S60/V60 T5 chime in on any mechanical issues?

Mostly regarding reliability, has anything mechanical broken/been horribly unreliable, within a reasonable time period? And how do you like the car? Is it clumsy (I've heard the newer S60 has huge A pillars?), and is there anything that has annoyed you, long-term?
Thanks!

We haven't had many Drive-E 4cyl break the 10,000 mile mark yet to fully tell you. I see cars like this. 2 dudes can buy the exact same car and drive it equally. 1 dude can see very seldom random tiny issues while the other sees more. It is wrong to judge a whole line through 1 isolated error on one particular car. As of now, i haven't seen anything. We did have to replace the ICM "touchscreen" on one car this week. How are you going to judge that though? Are you going to assume that all ICM's will go bad one V60 and expect the one you get to go bad also? I didn't mention that this was the only case in the country where anyone had to replace one. Maybe just a bad unit in the batch by the supplier I think. But people talk and blog what they want without fully understanding the situations.
The V60 drives well. It offers the the power at your typical rev range and gets best MPG in it's class (FWD T-5 4 cyl) The rear is roomy but not as much as a XC70. It is basically the very fun S60 with a bit more cargo capacity. I would drive both T6 and T5.
As far as issues, I haven't seen and drivetrain things yet but always be cautious of things you read online. I am an ex Volvo Master Tech (2011-2013) and current Parts Master. Any more questions you can contact me at ulysses@startmotorcars.com

Thanks for the response. I'll write your email down.
If it's essentially a more fun S60, with more cargo capacity, it'll be perfect. We're going down from a XC90, which has excessive storage that we have never used.
